Uttkrista Chhetri receives the Yoast Care fund for his contribution to the WordPress community

Recipient: Uttkrista Chhetri
Nominated by: Utsav Singh Rathour
MeetUttkrista Chhetri, a valued member of the WordPress community!Utsav Singh Rathour nominated him for the Yoast Care Fund for his commitment and valuable contributions. Let’s learn more about this WordPress enthusiast.
Nominator Utsav Singh Rathour:“I feel Uttkrista Chhetri is a deserving recipient for the Yoast Care Fund. His demonstrated dedication, resilience, and meaningful impact within the community. Uttkrista is one of the youngest in the community. His willingness to be involved and get into making the community a better place is unmatched. I have known him personally for years, and he is a polite and hard-working guy.”
Let’s get to know Uttkrista Chhetri
Those are some lovely words by Utsav. Let’s get to know Uttkrista a bit better and ask him some questions about his work and passion for WordPress:
Hi, Uttkrista! What’s one WordPress-related goal you have for this year?
One of my main goals for this year is to take on greater leadership within the WordPress community, whether that means stepping into a larger role or becoming a table lead at an upcoming WordCamp. I’m especially interested in being more involved in team management and in contributing to the smooth execution of events.
I also hope to connect with more people from different countries and across Nepal, as those interactions have always been a meaningful part of my experience in the community. In addition, I am expanding my contributions by publishing a pattern, continuing to contribute photos, and actively participating in moderation. Overall, my goal is to contribute more consistently while also growing into other roles.
What do you think made you stand out for this nomination?
One of the key reasons I believe I stood out for this nomination is the range of roles I have taken on from a relatively young age within the WordPress community. I was involved as a speaker, organizer, photo contributor, and now as a photo moderator. Each role has allowed me to engage with the community in different ways and to build a broader understanding of how it functions.
I think this diversity in my contributions, along with my consistency and active involvement, has helped me make a meaningful impact. Rather than limiting myself to one area, I’ve tried to explore multiple aspects of contribution and take on more responsibility over time, which may have contributed to this recognition.
What’s your favorite WordPress memory or something you’re most proud of?
One of my favorite WordPress memories is being part of the AX (Attendee Experience) team at WordCamp Nepal 2026, held in Butwal. This was my second time serving as an organizer, and it was a huge learning experience for me. I also had the opportunity to write blogs, which helped me reflect on the event in a more meaningful way.
What made it truly special, though, was the people. I got to connect with so many individuals from different backgrounds, and being trusted with responsibilities like managing the job board, the Wall of Experience, and helping run the bingo game made me feel genuinely involved. It wasn’t just about contributing, it was about being part of something bigger.
Overall, it was one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences I’ve had in the WordPress community, and I’m really proud of it.
Who is your WordPress mentor?
My WordPress mentor is my dad, Yam B. Chhetri. He has been actively contributing to the WordPress community for many years, taking on roles such as organizer, speaker, and contributor across different areas, including events like WordCamps and the Photos Team.
Seeing his long-term involvement and the impact he has made within the WordPress ecosystem inspired me to get involved from a young age. Through him, I was introduced to WordCamps, community events, and the idea of contributing beyond just using WordPress.
His experience, dedication, and continued giving back to the community have played a major role in shaping my own journey. He continues to guide and inspire me as I grow and take on more responsibilities within the WordPress space.
Where can people connect with you? Online, at WordCamps, or other meetups?
You’ll most likely find me at WordCamps within Nepal, as I try to stay active in the community space. I’m also planning to take part in more meetups in the future. So those are some of the main places where you can connect with me.
Besides that, I’m available online, especially on LinkedIn. I enjoy connecting with new people, having conversations, and being part of the community. Feel free to reach out, say hi at an event, or connect with me online!
Thank you for this interview, Uttkrista, and for all your contributions to the WordPress community! Do you know someone like Uttkrista Chhetriwho also deserves to be in the spotlight? Go to our Yoast Care page and nominate them right away.

Childcare Area at WordCamp Nepal in Butwal 2026

WordCamp is about the people, and that includes parents and children, too.
We understand how challenging it can be for parents to attend such events, especially when they have young children to care for. To make WordCamp Nepal2026 more accessible and family-friendly, we have designated a Childcare Area where parents can take their children comfortably throughout the event.
A Space for Parents and Kids
This area has been designed as a calm and welcoming space for all parents to take their children for feeding, resting, playing, and taking short breaks. The area is easily accessible, with toys also available to keep the children engaged while the parents rest.
Here’s what you can expect to find in the childcare area:
Comfortable spots for resting, feeding, and naps
Air-conditioned space
Nearby Bathroom
Toys so that children can play
Space for breastfeeding and diaper changes
Nearby and Ready
It is located just beside the conference halls, making it easy to access whenever you need a break during the event. If you have any trouble finding it, feel free to reach out to one of our volunteers; they’ll be happy to guide you.
Parent-Led Space
For the safety and comfort of everyone, the Childcare Area is a parent-led space. Parents must stay with their children at all times, as the area is not supervised by volunteers but by parents themselves.
By creating this space, WordCamp Nepal 2026 aims to be more inclusive and welcoming to everyone, ensuring that parents can also participate in the event while taking care of their children. We hope this helps parents feel more comfortable attending WordCamp Nepal 2026 with their children. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

Because Parenting Doesn’t Pause for Conferences
At WordCamp Pokhara 2025, we’re making space for everyone — including the smallest attendees.
We know how challenging it can be to attend conferences as a parent, especially with young children in tow. That’s why, for the first time in WordCamps in Nepal, we’re introducing a dedicated Childcare Center — a quiet, comfortable zone created just for families.
What’s Inside?
We’ve prepared two designated rooms, each equipped with:
Beds and tables for resting or feeding
Air conditioning for a cool, quiet environment
Attached bathrooms for convenience
Ample space for breastfeeding, diaper changes, and naps
While these rooms aren’t play areas, they offer the perfect space for little ones to rest, recharge, and reset — and for parents to take a breather too.
Supervised, But With You
Please note: for safety and comfort, parents must stay with their children at all times while using the space. These rooms are not staffed or supervised by volunteers — instead, they’re designed as parent-led zones for care and quiet time.
Food and drinks are allowed, so feel free to bring snacks, bottles, or anything else your child might need throughout the day.
Easy to Find, Easy to Use
Located just beside our conference halls, the Childcare Center is easy to access when you need a break. If you’re having trouble finding it, just ask one of our volunteers — they’ll be happy to guide you.
We’re proud to build a more inclusive, welcoming WordCamp — where learning and community don’t require you to pause your parenting journey.
So if you’re wondering, “Can I really attend WordCamp with my little one?” — the answer is: Yes, you can.
We can’t wait to welcome you — and your tiny co-attendee — to WordCamp Pokhara 2025.
